Longitudinal Joints

Paving Checklist

  • Ensure vertical faces are tacked (except PFC longitudinal joints).
  • Maintain proper overlap with screed when matching joint to eliminate hand working joint.
    • Do not push mix away from joint.
    • Bumping mix to edge of joint is acceptable if needed.
  • Longitudinal joint: Keep the majority of roller drum on hot mat overlapping to pinch joint, or hold off 6 inches on first pass and overlap on return pass.
