Material Transfer Vehicle MTV

Paving Checklist

  • Verify base/subbase can support loaded MTV.
  • Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) – Run first 3-4 loads hotter to heat up equipment.
  • Maintain proper height of material in hopper for consistency.
  • Pickup attachment: Position mold board down to pick up essentially all material belly dumped on pavement.
  • Watch for tack pickup on wheels – clean off or use spray systems.
